Independent software & systems consultancy

Custom software for the systems your business actually runs on.

Cortex Logic Group Inc. is the independent practice of Aidan Nakache — building web applications, server infrastructure, customer management systems, and warehouse inventory tracking for organisations that want the thing designed, built, and kept running by the person they actually talk to.

01 — Services

What I build

Five areas, taken deep rather than broad. If a project needs something outside them, I will tell you that up front rather than learn it on your budget.

01

Web Development

Marketing sites, customer portals, and full web applications — fast, accessible, maintainable, and yours to keep. No page-builder lock-in and no rented platform holding your business hostage.

02

Server & Infrastructure Development

Provisioning, deployment pipelines, reverse proxies and TLS, backups, and monitoring. Infrastructure set up deliberately, so it keeps running on the nights nobody is watching it.

03

Customer Management & CRMs

Customer records, pipelines, quoting, and support workflows shaped around how your team already works — instead of bending the team to fit somebody else's software and its per-seat pricing.

04

Warehouse & Inventory Tracking

Stock levels, movements, reconciliation, and reporting across locations. Built around how product genuinely moves through a real warehouse — including the parts that go wrong.

05

Hardware Development

Experience designing and integrating physical devices, and writing the software layer that makes them useful — the bridge between equipment on the floor and the systems that report on it.

06

End to end, not in pieces

These rarely arrive separately. The inventory system needs a server; the CRM needs the website; the hardware needs both. One engineer holding the whole picture removes the seams where projects usually fail.

02 — Work

Selected work & who I work with

Engagements range from a single well-scoped build to an ongoing role as the engineering side of a business that does not have one in house.

dubblefilm

Ongoing engagement

A film photography brand with real product to manufacture, track, and ship. I handle the software side of that operation — the web presence customers buy through, the customer management behind it, and the warehouse inventory tracking that keeps stock figures honest as product moves.

Individuals

Founders and independent operators who need one system that works, rather than six subscriptions taped together.

Private organisations

Established businesses whose operations have outgrown spreadsheets and off-the-shelf tooling.

NGOs

Mission-driven organisations that need capable, durable software built carefully against a real budget.

Government-contracted companies

Vendors delivering against external requirements, review, and documentation standards.

03 — Approach

How working together goes

You are hiring one engineer — and that is precisely the point. Nothing gets lost between the person who understood the problem and the person who builds it.
01

You talk to the person building it

No account manager relaying requirements, and no junior quietly inheriting the project once the contract is signed. The conversation and the work are the same person.

02

Scoped honestly

If something off-the-shelf solves your problem for less, I will say so. The work worth building custom is the work that is genuinely specific to how you operate.

03

Built to be handed over

Documented, conventional, and running on infrastructure you control. You should be able to hand the codebase to another engineer without an archaeology project.

04

Discreet by default

Client records, internal systems, and operational data handled with the confidentiality that NGO and government-adjacent work expects as a baseline.

04 — Contact

Start a conversation

Tell me what you are trying to build, or what is currently breaking. I will give you an honest read on whether it is something I should take on, and roughly what it would involve.
